Our women’s ministries are grouped together under the oversight of the Women in the Church. A denomination-wide organization, Women in the Church (WIC) started in 1925 as a way of organizing women for Bible study, prayer, and mission under the oversight of the church’s elders. Our WIC organizes all of the women members of our congregation into “circles,” which are simply convenient ways of allowing the women to be gathered for particular missional tasks. In addition, the WIC has regular monthly and weekly Bible studies; sponsors an annual “mini-conference” with a nationally-recognized speaker; and hosts various dinners that allow for fellowship and spiritual growth. Overseen by a council of church women, this ministry has a significant role in the life of First Presbyterian Church.
