Rev. Norman Bagby on March 19, 2010

Thanks for your prayers as Fran and I spent a week in N.C. and S.C. I attended a conference on The Nature and Sufficiency of Scripture, while Fran spent some time with our daughter, Sandra, and her family. They got moved into their new home on Thursday and we were able to spend the night and return to Hattiesburg on Friday, March 12. The conference was very practical. My thanks go again to the Session for allowing me to go.

As many of you know, Elma Cameron has moved to Fairhope, AL, to be near her daughter, Melinda Mapp. If you need her address, call the church office. It has been suggested that I list those in Assisted Living Apts. in the Newsletter from time-to-time to encourage you to pray for them, since they are basically shut in. At Emeritus (formerly Loyalton) are Millie Blanton (212), Joyce Hyatt (219), and Alice Turner (134). At Provision Living are Tom Caldwell (110), Bob Ferguson (200), and Jack Ross (144). I try to visit them once a month. If anyone would like to visit them with me, give me a call at 601-606-0690.

Paul Herring is working on our trip to Columbus, MS, to visit Palmer Home and Mrs. Youngblood's (Mary Shull's mother), plus an Amish Shoppe. This is set for Saturday, May 1. Put this date on your calendar and plan to ride the church bus and have a great time. We will leave the church at 8 a.m. and be back in Hattiesburg between 6-7 p.m. Lunch will be at Palmer Home.

Bill Prout and some men from Christian Services gave a very informative program at our Senior Adults on Thursday, March 18. There are several of our members who do volunteer work at Christian Services. I hope more will volunteer after hearing of the work that God is doing there.

The Mississippi Chamber Circle will present a mini-concert at a Luncheon at Trinity Episcopal Church, 509 West Pine Street, on Tuesday, March 23. The lunch costs $8 and reservations are not necessary. The concert is at 12 noon in the church and lunch is at 12:30 p.m. in the adjacent Parish Hall.

Don't forget the City Band Concert at the Saenger Theater on Sunday, March 28, at 3 p.m.
